Eskimi, the largest mobile social network in Nigeria has been recognized as the ‘best mobile social network” by the grand jury of Mobile Money Africa.
Eskimi was recongnized as the best product and also for the input and marketing efforts to increase the mobile money usage and financial inclusion.
Emmanuel Okoegwale, principal associate, Mobile Money Africa, organizers of the awards said that Eskimi was adjudged the best for aggressively promoting mobile financial services to millions of young mobile subscribers in Nigeria.
A success story by every right, Eskimi has turned the web-based model back to front in Lithuania.
Eskimi launched in Lithuania in March of 2009 but the mobile social network is such a success in Nigeria as well as Ghana and Kenya.
Vytas Paukstys, CEO of Eskimi, was quoted in an interview as saying the “We are planning to strengthen our positions in African continent and go for the dominant position in Africa. We believe that growing mobile market, mobile money licenses and unique mobile internet usage split will make Africa one of the most important continents in the world. And one of the most wealthy ones in the future.”
