iSiS-Ex, UK rugged computer specialist, has underlined its global ambitions with the appointment of an International Sales Manager to develop new business channels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Steve Wynne has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years, with much of that spent in Ex product sales.

He began his career as an electronics engineer before moving into technical sales.

He went on to hold Sales Director roles with a number of companies involved in the manufacture of process controls and has also run his own business.

Steve’s main focus will be to establish new distributor relationships internationally and to create greater awareness of iSiS-Ex product within the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, both of which also have a requirement for explosion proof computer hardware to manage process control systems.

Steve said: “It’s hugely exciting for me to be joining such an established and dynamic company as iSiS-Ex. It has a really distinctive personality which combines the experience and know-how that comes from more than 20 years of specialist R&D with the energy and vitality of a start-up. I was already very familiar with iSiS-Ex’s stand-out product from my former role, so it is a real privilege to now be responsible for strengthening the company’s European networks and for pushing into the key regions of the Middle East, Africa and Asia.”

Howard Gould, Managing Director of iSiS-Ex, added: “Steve’s appointment is a real coup for us. He has a fantastic reputation in the industry and a detailed knowledge of Ex product and customers. We are a global business and already export 95% of our product, so I am hugely excited at the prospect of expanding our reach to new, vigorous, growing markets.”

In addition to Steve Wynne’s appointment, iSiS-Ex has strengthened the R&D department at its UK HQ.

Richard Constantine has moved across from his previous role in Engineering Support to become R&D Engineer. He’ll be working with Graham Soper, Head of R&D, on some exciting new iSiS-Ex products which are scheduled for launch in 2013.

Richard spent 22 years with BAE Systems where he specialized as an electronics engineer on military projects.

His appointment to R&D will enable iSiS-Ex to accelerate what is already a vigorous and successful product development program. In the last year alone, the company has launched three new products for the oil and gas market.
