Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (Nahcoaviance) recently hosted 78 senior members of its workforce at the 2013 edition of the annual management retreat held in Lagos where the Company said it will continue to pursue value base organisation principles to better it worth.

Participants at the three - day retreat, agreed on the need to build on the gains of the ongoing transformation programme of the company by making Nahco Aviance much competitive in the cargo handling and logistics industry in Nigeria.

The deliberations also afforded members the opportunity to frankly engage one another in an unofficial setting on issues of importance to the company.

The retreat with the theme: ‘upholding our values in 2013 and beyond’ was facilitated by Bluesea Consulting and Business Services. It was an interactive session that involved team bonding and brain tasking exercises.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Kayode Oluwasegun-Ojo, managing director and chief executive officer of nahcoaviance, emphasized the importance of leadership in management. According to him, leadership position is a personal decision individuals must take, and it is the only way one can succeed as a manager.

Oluwasegun-Ojo stated further that understanding the company’s value system, appreciating the role of transformation drive and creation of openness in communication will stimulate ethical responsibilities in work places and encourage best practice.

He expressed delight on the achievements of the company in the last year.

Oluwasegun-Ojo said, “We achieved a greater level of cohesiveness, more people took their jobs seriously, and transformation was expressed with the like of Salami Lateef by their exemplary behaviour. It is a sign that we are moving in the right direction”.
