Late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, who died after contracting Ebola virus, has continued to get more recognition, months after her demise.

The latest was bestowed on her during the PathCare Doctor’s Forum, recently held to mark PathCare Laboratories’ 10th Anniversary at Muson Center in Lagos.

The mention of her name as recipient of the Exemplary Leadership Award aroused emotions, as the entire audience rose up in ovation for the deceased medical doctor, who died after contacts with the Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who brought Ebola to Nigeria.

Represented by her son, Mr Bankole Cardoso, Adadevoh was recognised for her heroic leadership and ultimate sacrifice in preventing the spread of the Ebola outbreak in Lagos.

Also, Dr. Jide Idris, Lagos State Commissioner for Health and Dr. Yewande Adesina, special adviser to the Governor of Lagos were also honoured with the Exemplary Leadership Award in recognition of their outstanding dedication to duty and for the pivotal roles they played in containing the disease.

Meanwhile, the forum featured “The Great Debate”  which focused on “Quality Versus Cost, intended to ascertain whether quality healthcare is affordable in Nigeria.

The session, moderated  by Dr Afolabi Ogunlesi, managing director, VESTA Health, explored cost of healthcare and its impact on healthcare delivery.

The Symposium, which was themed “Improving the Quality of Healthcare in Nigeria”, turned out to be one of the most attended and significant medical events of the year with over 500 medical doctors in attendance.
