Slot Systems Limited, a household name for affordable and and durable mobile phones in Nigeria has upped the game in phone sales with slot.ng website and Mobile app.
According to Slot systems, the gesture falls in line with its vision to bridge information gap in the global information technology (phone sales, specifications, prices, etc.) with emphasis in Nigeria market.
Meanwhile, a GFK report for the organised smartphone market share tipped Slot as controls the 48% share in 2014.
Speaking at the website and app unveiling in Lagos on Thursday, Engineer Nnamdi Ezeigbo, group managing director, Slot Systems Limited, said that as an indigenous company with penchant interest in offering best services to its customers, they decided to bring their services even closer to the people through online channels.
Ezeigbo said that Slot has carefully studied the peculiar life style of Nigerians, which has helped them in designing different products they have rolled out in the past.
He said that the online platforms would enable them "bring our 50 retails stores to your doorsteps, your office, home, even at your fingertips".
Aside the online platforms, Slot introduced Trade-in and Screen Insurance programmes for the customers.
This, the Group MD said, "With the Screen Insurance, you can insure your phone screen with just 5%. Do you know how much it costs to replace your phone screen? It's alarming! This is because of the cost of producing the phone or tablet screen. But we have the solution at Slot.
"Also, we brought another exciting offer, the Trade-In. This is another value add to the esteem customers and the entire Nigerian customers. You can now trade-in your old phone for a new one irrespective of where you bought it," he said.
Speaking superficially on the newly launched online platforms, Ezeigbo said, "For us, it is about service that is efficient. It's about value with emphasis on cost saving. This is the right time to go online; the time when about 16% of Nigerians are having access to the internet with about 38% of them as active users. This is increasingly becoming interesting.
"Over the years, we have contributed immensely to the growth of the smartphone market by making smartphone available and at affordable prices.
"From the GFK reports for the organised smartphone market share, our market share is 48% for 2014. We have grown in size and strength with over 700 Nigerians working with the Company"
He declared the Company's unrelenting desires to bringing good services, cost saving initiatives and provide shopping experience whether offline or online.
Also speaking, Mrs. Nkechi Ezeigbo, group executive director, Slot Systems Limited, said that the Company's relationship with the telcos and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will be to the best interest of the customers.
"As an indigenous Company, we don't just sell phones, we provide first class after-sales support that is incomparable in any Western African information technology sector".
Mrs. Ezeigbo noted that over the years, Slot has been the first to announce the availability of new phones, new functions, features and upgrades in the Nigerian phone market.
Slot System limited was incorporated in 1998 and started importation of computer accessories the same year.
As a visionary company, it switched over to mobile telecommunication services in 2001 and has remained the toast of global brands like MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat, Nokia (now Lumia), Samsung, BlackBerry, Tecno, Apple Huawei, LG, among others.
