Digitalback Books – a comprehensive virtual library of literary works from across Africa and the African Diaspora will extend its catalogue to include selected works of the renowned Nigerian author - Flora Nwapa.

late Flora Nwapa was one of Nigeria's literary greats having written several books including well known titles like 'Efuru', 'Idu' 'Never Again' and 'Women are Different' as well as poems, short story collections and children's books.

In 1977, she founded her own publishing house - Tana Press - to publish her own works as well as those of other African writers.

On the partnership, Uzoma Nwakuche, managing director from Tana Press said, “We see the 50th anniversary of 'Efuru' Flora Nwapa's most well-known novel as the perfect opportunity to make this happen. Her titles in the digital library will ensure continued access to individuals and institutions alike".

“Signing an agreement for a number of Flora Nwapa's titles including her last unpublished work 'Lake Goddess' is an incredible milestone for us”, Gersy Ifeanyi Ejimofo, founder of Digitalback Books. We have a lot of contemporary writers on the platform but Flora Nwapa's works will be our first from the legendary African Writers Series. “I sincerely hope this will be the start of more African Classics being digitized and available to new audiences across Africa and globally”

A selection of Flora Nwapa’s titles will be available end of October 2016 on Digitalback books.

DigitalBack Books: Literary works are sourced from authors and publishers across Africa and the Diaspora and made instantly accessible to read on the virtual library.

There are hundreds of carefully curated titles now available on the platform from a broad alliance of over 30 predominately African publishers serving a rapidly growing population of increasingly mobile and digital-savvy readers.

“Digitalback Books is available online and also available via apps for the iPad and Android devices. For more information, go to http://digitalbackbooks.com”, Ejimofo said.
