The first information and communications technology (ICT) Success Summit holds tomorrow, Saturday, October 29, at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Organizers of the summit Datapoint Consulting and Nigeria CommunicationsWeek said, the summit has been designed to let Nigerians have an insight on the role and impact of Information and Communications Technology since the sector was liberalized till date on the growth of our country’s economy

The summit will be chaired by Chris Uwaje, director general, Delta State Innovation Hub, while Austin Okere, founder and vice chairman, Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) Plc, will be delivering the keynote speech.

Lucky Uduikhue Programme Coordinator, ICT Success Summit, said Uwaje and Okere were chosen because of their passion and contributions to the ICT sector.

He said that already, the “who is who” and heavyweights in the industry have agreed to attend this event which would also feature presentation of awards to deserving companies.

This celebration also offers ICT Companies excellent opportunity to showcase some of their achievements before the largest gathering of ICT industry players under one roof.

“We therefore encourage organizations to be part of this success story and tell their success story in a special way that depicts what ICT stands for in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, ICT industry associations have endorsed the summit, these include: Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) the umbrella organization of all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders in Nigeria, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) among others.

This summit would enable consumers of ICT products and services meet with the service providers, resellers and other partners to tell these success stories first hand.
