Ahead of its formal launch this weekend, CarXie, the truly Nigerian cab company, has barred cars manufactured before 2008 from its fleet.

The CarXie policy was revealed at a pre - launch meeting with cab owners and drivers at the Dukan George Ajah office.

The meeting at the instance of the CarXie management was designed to demonstrate the CarXie mobile App to its core target.

Welcoming the cab owners and drivers to the meeting, Mr. Chinedu Amadi, chairman of CarXie, explained that it was necessary for CarXie and its cab operators to bond ahead of the launch to ensure a smooth kick start come July 27.

The CarXie Chairman explained that CarXie is a bold statement that Nigerians are capable of conceptualizing sustainable innovations.

Therefore, CarXie standards must be part of acceptable global standards. There would be no compromise on the quest to achieve comfort, safety, and save time for the rider at affordable costs. The cab owners and drivers play a central role in this project. Whereas the cab owner provides the cab, it is the driver who is the only physical contact with the rider.

The grade of the car must not be below 2008, a policy re-echoed just last week when the Federal Government of Nigeria banned the importation of vehicles manufactured before 2008.

There is no room for rickety smoking cars who waste the time of the rider with a breakdown on highways. The driver complements the high quality of the cab with professional conduct – the driver must be courteous, humble, not talkative, clean and alert.

Mr. Chinedu Amadi assured the cab owners and drivers that up to date tracking and chatting technology have been deployed to make the cars secure against car snatchers and the riders safe from kidnappers. Moreover, every rider is traceable with his BVN. He urged the drivers to download the mobile App immediately.

Responding to the request from some drivers that the age limit for cars be brought down to 2003, Mr. Amadi pleaded with all that the cut-off from 2008 should be adhered to religiously. He urged the drivers to see themselves as working to promote the image in Nigeria. Your diligence will force people to talk good of Nigeria.

Carxie is a mobile taxi booking app developed in Nigeria with foreign collaboration. It is a brand new innovation from Dukan George Limited. It is a platform to connect riders to drivers using a comfortable, secure, safe and affordable platform. CarXie will be launched by 7pm on Friday July 27 at Ace Olivia City Mall, Onikan, Lagos.
