Optasia, fintech group appointed Michael Ikpoki, former CEO, MTN Nigeria, as a non-executive board member and audit committee member, effective September 1, 2026.

Ikpoki, joined the Optasia board and its audit committee.

He also chairs Amplitude Telecoms Africa and Onafriq Nigeria Payments, and serves on Unilever Nigeria's board.

Ikpoki is an accomplished Multinational Business Executive and Leader with proven experience in successfully managing and growing significant businesses and delivering optimal shareholder value in the largest economies in Africa.

A lawyer by training, Ikpoki has over 25 years regulatory, commercial, operational and leadership experience in the telecoms/fast moving consumer goods Industry in Africa.

Ikpoki has advised and mentored CEOs of growth-driven African companies in ICT and Consumer markets as well as served as an independent and objective sounding board and resource to Executive leadership teams.
