7 Millionaires, other Winners Emerge on MTN Treasure Hunt

Fifteen customers who won consolation prizes of Plasma television sets, mobile handsets and DVD players were among the other lucky seven MTN customers who emerged winners of one million naira each in the first weekly draw of the ongoing MTN Treasure Hunt promo. All categories of winners received their prizes at a ceremony held at Event Center in Lagos last week
Speaking, Bola Akingbade, chief marketing officer, MTN Nigeria, said the promo was in line with MTN’s objective of rewarding its esteemed customers for their loyalty to the company over the years.  He thanked MTN customers for their sustained patronage and noted that the company was committed to empowering its customers with some treasures that would lead them to enjoy pleasurable life.
With MTN Treasure Hunt, he said customers stand a chance of winning N1m everyday for the next 100days;  and that a weekly prize of N2m and a Jackpot of N10m are up for grabs. This set of winners is the first to emerge in the promo, according to Akingbade.
To participate in the promo which is expected to last for 100 days from October 27, 2008, customers simply need to type the key word TREASURE in a text to the short code 77777. They will receive an auto response.  Each sms costs N100.  The customer is expected to keep hunting for the Treasure by responding to texts received and thereby accumulating points.
Information from MTN reveals that the telecom company will contact everyone who has participated on that day with the name of the 1 million naira winner. This will be sent over the day after the draw, so Monday’s winners will be sent to everyone on Tuesday. The weekly 2 million naira winner will be sent to everyone who participated that week, while the Grand Prize winner will be sent out to everyone who has participated in the contest after the 100 days.
