The Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (Bon) has congratulated MallamAbubakar Jijiwa, chairman, on the renewal of his tenure for another five years as the director-general of Voice of Nigeria (Von).
According to a statement by Osita Nweke, Bon’s executive secretary, Mallam Jijiwa merited his re-appointment because he has contributed immensely to the infrastructural development of Von and revitalized all facets of the medium.
The statement said that under his leadership, Bon has grown from strength to strength and is now more committed to the growth of the broadcasting industry as well as its member stations. Even as the organisation has forged more collaborative ventures in the exploitation of jointly acquired global sports rights such as the 2006 Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and 2010 South Africa World Cup.
Also under his stewardship, Bon’s recognition as a key player in the broadcasting sector has grown more nationally and globally, the statement added.
