Workers of Aero Contractors have suspended their demonstration following Senator Hadi Sirika, minister of State for Aviation’s intervention on Friday.
The workers embarked on demonstration to press home their displeasure over the suspension of operations by the airline.
However, the Minister said that the primary purpose of government is to encourage existing business and to provide jobs for the populace.
The minister stated this in Lagos at the headquarters of Aero Contractor where he paid an unscheduled visit and met demonstrating workers.
He appealed to the workers to disperse till Monday when he promised to return with a feedback after his meeting with AMCON, Aero Management and other critical stakeholders.
“We will look into your demands, and come out with solutions that are mutually beneficial to the staff, management and the Government” he added.
Speaking further, Sen Hadi said that the APC Government is committed to creating jobs and improving the general wellbeing of Nigerians as enshrined in its manifestos.
The workers unanimously agreed to the Minister’s request to suspend the demonstration and dispers till Monday.
The Minister who arrived amidst the demonstration also joined the workers in a show of solidarity.
The workers earlier paid glowing tribute to the Minister for not only intervening but coming in person in a rare show of humility.
Sen Hadi was accompanied by Capt Usman Muktar, Director General of NCAA, Engr Oluwafemi Oguode, Director of Maintenance and Engineering, FAAN and Dr Ibrahim Idris from the Minister's office.
