Aflix, a mobile online video streaming app which launched in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana last month has expanded its operations by unveiling the Hollywood mobile streaming service in thirty other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The new territories include: Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, and Ethiopia.
Others include: Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia and Madagascar.
The service has also been made available in: Malawi, Mauritania, Mayotte, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Aflix said it is set to revolutionise the African Video-On-Demand space, by providing a large library of Hollywood content at affordable prices to Africans via Android powered mobile devices and Set Top Boxes.
Aflix is focused on quality and convenience, while continuously striving to create the best possible video experience for viewers.
The firm which was founded this year said it was inspired by the need to enable African consumers to harness the power of the mobile revolution and access premium quality video content anytime anywhere.
Aflix, an Android mobile video subscription and PPV app available for $10 per month in the Play store is also a set top box app
Speaking on the expansion moves, Nyasha Mutsekwa, Aflix’s director of Business Development, said: “Our drive is inspired by the desire to fulfil the essential need of providing top notch movie entertainment to the African market, using mobile technology. Africa is today unarguably the home of mobile and it is our strategic move to utilise the mobile platform as a veritable platform to providing our innovative solution.”
