Dr Olu Agunloye, vice chairman, National e-Government Strategies (NeGST), has made special case for e-government saying that only a stable polity would guarantee a successful e-Government project.
Agunloye said that there was the need to consolidate on the political and economic reforms being carried out by the Nigerian government.
He spoke in a paper ``e-Government in Nigeria, Objectives, Strategies, Challenges" conference in Berlin, Germany.
``The reforms within the public sector is still at infant stages and so also is the transformation of the business processes within the public sector,'' he said
The theme of the conference, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, was e-Government for Development - the promise and the practice".
He said the Nigerian government should also fine-tune the manner in which its does business under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for e-government to be successful.
``Aside from insufficient skills and resources, government tends not to show enough respect or understanding for e-government PPP contracts,'' said Ogunloye.
