Arik Air Alerts Customers on Scam Websites

Arik Air, West Africa's leading airline, has warned the customers on the notorious activities cyber fraudsters who have cloned the website to deceive the unsuspecting members of the public.

In a warming notice released on its website www.Arikair.com, Arik Air executive management warned the customers of an "increase in the number of scam websites purporting to be operated by Arik Air.

"These websites can appear highly professional and some may display our advertising and accredited logos. Such websites have the sole purpose of selling fraudulent air tickets and in no way represent Arik Air".

To avoid being victim of such fraudulent websites, the Airline said that customers should always access the official Arik Air website by typing:www.arikair.com into their browser or choosing ‘Arik Air Official Website’ in the Google search ranking page.

"When e-mailing Arik Air, you should also ensure that the e-mail address is genuine: [email protected] [email protected]

"Sometimes these exact addresses will appear on the screen, but when you click on the address, a different e-mail address will appear, so be alert to this. Arik Air will never use free e-mail accounts such as hotmail, yahoomail, or gmail to contact you".

Management of the Airline said they are doing their upmost to protect the customers and provide a secure online environment for their purchase. "We are working with the police and the fraud department to make sure those fraudulent websites are shut down and the perpetrators prosecuted.

"Please be aware that, unfortunately, payment made to such fraudulent online vendors are neither guaranteed nor eligible for refund by Arik Air", the statement read.
