Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (Bon) holds its 49th General Assembly in Jalingo, Taraba State from April 6 through April 8, 2009.
The forum themed “The Challenge of Broadcasting during the Global Economic Meltdown” will be declared open by His Excellency, Danbaba D. Suntai, governor of Taraba State, on Tuesday, April 7 by 10 a.m.
The conference, according to Osita Nweke, executive secretary of Bon, will be attended by over 250 chief executives of publicly and privately owned radio and television stations in the country.
Delegates at the conference will discuss issues geared towards moving the Nigerian broadcasting industry forward, especially the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting, funding, debts owed broadcasting stations by advertisers and advertising agencies, training and re-training of staff of member stations, among others.
