Charly Boy, J-Martins, Ignite Abuja National Youth Summit

Those who attended last year’s edition of the National Youth Summit again witnessed yet another mind blowing session held on Saturday, September 25 at Eagle Square, Abuja.
The youths who inundated the arena in their thousands from different states of the federation believed that this year’s summit was better as they also hope for another good one next year.
Apart from empowering and providing a reliable direction for the Nigerian youths to follow through inspirational talk from the convener, Dr. David Ogbueli, Charly Boy, Fela Durotoye, Dr. Myles Munroe, among other great motivational speakers; it was a fun-filled night as Area Fada, J-Martins, Soul E, AY, Gordons, Emanuel Babayaro, among other top entertainers were the pick among the pack of aspiring youth singers and humour merchants that left the mammoth crowd frenzied with their superlative performances.
The National Youth Summit challenged the unprecedented crowd in songs, drama, comedy and in words to rise above the challenges that we face as a nation, to take advantage of the opportunities that lie within them.
Dr. Ogbueli, president of Golden Heart Foundation, an organisation that played a lead role in the summit, urged the youths to use their talents to make an impact and realize what they can achieve if they step up and take responsibility for their future; even as Fela Durotoye  challenged the youths to rise above mediocrity.
The height of the event anchored by star actor Francis Duru and the award winning ace humour merchant, AY came when Charly Boy rode on his red bike to the stage for one of the great performances of the night as J-Martins kept the crowd on their feet performing his popular hits.
The summit, an initiative of Project New Nigeria and Golden Heart Foundation might have come and gone but the rally which had over 100,000 youths in attendance this year left the attendees a lot to ponder on till the next edition.
