Chief Osita Chidoka, minister of Aviation, has charged managers of airport to improve on service delivery in line with the transformation in the aviation sector.
Speaking through Barrister Chidi Nkwonta, his special assistant on Performance Monitoring, at the opening of the Ministerial Performance Management System Orientation for Regional and Airport managers, in Lagos, the Minister said that the training was a follow up to the meeting he held with Airport Managers where key performance indicators were introduced.
Earlier, Engr Saleh Dunoma, managing director of FAAN, commended the initiative and charged airport managers to improve on service delivery and performance.
He also challenged managers to remain faithful to the vision and mission of the Authority.
According to him, we must pursue our mission, "To develop and profitably manage customer centric airport facilities for safe, secure and efficient carriage of passengers and goods at world class standards".
He said that measures had been put into place to assess the performance of airport managers through their services to customers. According to him, " users of our airports must be given priority in service delivery"
Capt. Henry Omeogu, FAAN’s Director of Airports Operations, said that improved performance by Airport Managers was key to the actualization of the Authority’s vision of being among the best airport groups.
In her remarks, Hajia Salamatu Umar-Eluma, director of Human Resources, pledged the commitment of staff to the success of the initiative.
The retreat was attended by the Directors, Regional Managers, Airport Managers, Terminal Managers and other relevant management staff.
