This week’s edition of Cable News Network (CNN)’s African Voices, sponsored by Globacom, will be on ‘Music Makers’ in Africa. The episode will take a peep at music talents across Africa who are jostling for a premium place at the crowded field of stars and super stars.

The show will feature Ugandan, Jocelyne Tracey Keko who is described as a rising artiste whose path to success has come from finding her voice on controversial topics.

Keko rose to fame in 2010 after she released 'Fallen heroes' in which she featured other established Ugandan artistes.

Her next single 'How we do it’ topped the charts in Uganda and on MTV Africa, immediately making her a household name in East Africa. Her success brought her an endorsement deal with Pepsi and lead role in Mountain Dew's advert campaign in East Africa.

“Music Makers” will also feature Ghana’s Frank Kissi, who is described in the program as a talent who has taken his love of drumming “…to greater heights by creating a unique beat that has caught the attention of an international audience.”

A third artiste on the show is the “distinctive” voice from Mozambique,  Deltino Guerreiro, who the presenter called  “…a dreamer ready to do big things.”

African Voices airs on CNN International at 9.30 a.m. on Fridays. It is repeated at 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays, 11.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Sundays. Viewers can also watch the show on Mondays at 10:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays at 4.30 a.m.

Last week had seen Africa’s “Strong Women” such as South Africa’s first African female pilot, Asnath Mahapa, Uganda’s media personality, Flavia Tumusiime, and Ghana’s social media curator, Nicole Amarteifio, taking the centre stage on the programme.
