Pan-African Information Technology company, CWG Plc has showcased SMERP, the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning platform built to enable Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) manage their business operations efficiently at the Enugu SME Week.
Speaking on the sideline of the event held at the Oak lands Amusement Park and Events center in Enugu, South-East Nigeria, Mr. James Agada, chief executive officer of CWG, said its participation at the event is in line with its strategic intent of deploying technology solutions that enable growth, especially for the SMEs segment of the Nigerian economy, which accounts for over 25 percent of employment in the country.
Agada, who delivered a lecture on ‘Innovative Technologies’ at the one week event added that with SMERP, SMEs can easily setup an E-commerce website with different categories of products, even as he revealed that the solution is suitable for any business like retailing, hospital management, manufacturing and school management.
“Few years ago, there was a survey, which revealed that there are 17 million Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria, employing 32.41 million persons and makes a contribution of about 46.54 per cent to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product in nominal terms. At CWG, we have a commitment to enable the growth and sustainability of this segment with home grown technology,” he said.
Inaugurated in November 2014, the Enugu SME Week is an annual, one-week intensive, education-based marketing platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and owners of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to network, connect and leverage resources to birth new ideas and develop businesses.
