To celebrate the upcoming debut of Trevor Noah as host of legendary “fake news” programme The Daily Show, DStv and Comedy Central (DStv channel 122) are opening the channel to Compact Plus and Compact subscribers for the first week of broadcast (28 September – 2 October).
The news comes as Noah limbers up to step into the shoes of beloved Daily Show creator, Jon Stewart, who left the show in August after 16 years.
The hotly-anticipated Noah debut will be the first time in history that an African has hosted a US late-night TV franchise.
Similarly, Turner Broadcasting and DStv will be making African television history this summer when families all over the continent will be able to celebrate their summer break the African way.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will air Tuesdays to Fridays on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122) at 20:00 GMT (8pm) from Tuesday 29 September, just 24 hours after the live US premiere. Comedy Central will be running, full catch-up episodes of The Daily Show online at www.comedycentralafrica.com from 30 September.
Also, Turner Broadcasting and DStv will be making African television history this summer when families all over the continent will be able to celebrate their summer break the African way.
