A new kid on the block, Endeavour Nigeria Reality TV show is set to grace the screen and promises wads of cash and innovations in the reality TV space.
The organizers have boasted that the programme will titillate viewers’ appetite come the New Year, when it shall officially flag off on primetime television and run for 30 days.
Nigerians who are between the age of 20 and 35 are eligible for entry. The application forms will be available soon, in selected banks nationwide and cost N2,500.
An insight into the programme’s schedule shows that an initial 36 candidates will be selected from different parts of the country, and would eventually be reduced to 12 in a selection process.
The 12 inmates would be sent to a village in Cross River State, where the show is billed to take place; and will each get N2.5 million at the end of the programme, while the Most Valuable Participant will get a Mitsubishi Endeavour 2008 SUV besides the cash prize. Also, each of the initial 36 candidates will be given a Laptop as well as a management course in Lagos.
According to the organizers, Endeavour Nigeria Reality TV show is a unique programme that is set to entertain as well as showcase the spirit of endurance, selflessness and community development service.
“In the recent past, we have been inundated with all kinds of reality TV programmes but Endeavour Nigeria will be something new, fresh and uniquely different in the sense that the show will benefit both participants and the community,” said Enahoro Oiseomaye, ED, Prime Edge Media Solutions, organizers of the show.
“It will also beat the winner-takes-all myth that we have seen in the past, as all the final participants will go home smiling.”
He informed that there will be no evictions as the 12 selected participants will be involved in a major community development initiative, from the start of the show to termination. However, the Most Valuable Participant will be picked by the voting audience and will be rewarded with a brand new SUV.
“Besides the handsome financial rewards, the candidates will acquire project planning and management skills, public-oriented ideas, among other valuable lessons. A thrilling mixture of fun, physical and mental tasks will be infused into the one-month programme,” Oiseomaye added.
He also informed that the show has received governor Liyel Imoke’s endorsement, being the host state of the maiden edition. This, he said, is in identifying with the tourism potentials of the state and the government’s efforts to promote them.
