Enugu State Government has approved more than one billion naira for the execution of infrastructural development projects in different parts of the state.
Mr. Chuks Ugwoke, the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, said that the approval was given by the State Executive Council at its weekly meeting, meant to be the last for 2008.
According to the Commissioner, out of the total amount, nine hundred and seventy-eight million, nine hundred and ninety-four thousand, nine hundred and forty-two naira forty kobo (N978,994,942.40) was for the total rehabilitation and refurbishment of the State owned Radio and Television Stations.
Mr. Ugwoke disclosed that contract for the renovation exercise was awarded to Techno Broadcasting Company, adding that in few months time; the broadcasting stations will bounce back to life and function optimally again.
On the welfare of staff of the broadcasting stations, Mr. Ugwoke said that government has taken steps to address it in addition to other similar government owned parastatals. 
The Commissioner said that N30.9m was approved for the drilling of the three motorized water boreholes at Ogui Agu Amokwe in Udi, Amankwo Oghe in Ezeagu and Nimbo in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area.
According to him, N22.2m was further approved for the renovation of buildings and facilities at the proposed State College of Agriculture, Iwollo in Ezeagu Local Government Area.
