The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said it will work with entrepreneurs with  track records of excellence in their various business endeavours, in the authority’s quest to transform Nigerian airports into ideal airports with state of the arts facilities.

Mr. George Uriesi, managing director of FAAN, made this remark while declaring open a world class restaurant “Things Remembered” at the departure lounge of the newly remodeled Domestic Terminal 1 at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos recently.

Uriesi, who observed that the new restaurant was of international standard in terms of facilities, layout, ambience and quality of service .

He added that the vision of Princess Stella Oduah, minister of Aviation, to transform Nigerian airports into centres of excellence was beginning to yield the expected dividend, considering the quality of service provided by the new restaurant and other outlets that would start operations at the Domestic Terminal 1.

The FAAN helmsman, who was the special guest at the event, said that the Authority was determined to prove that good things could come out of the public service, which is generally seen in the country as a drain pipe, through the provision of modern airport facilities that would give the public value for their money and make Nigerians proud.

The MD also announced at the event that the remodeled Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport will be commissioned on Friday, March 15, 2013, and the remodeled Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri on March 22, 2013.
