Engineer Saleh Dunoma, managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), recently undertook an unscheduled inspection tour of the Rescue and Fire Department of the Authority at Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.
The Department provides fire cover for NCAT's airstrip, used for the training of aircraft pilots and other related professionals.
Dunoma who was received on arrival by the Rector of the College, Capt. CAULCRICK Samuel inspected old and new fire tenders as well as communication equipment provided and serviced by FAAN.
Yakubu Dati, general manager, Corporate Communications, quote Dunoma as charged staff of the Authority to be diligent in their duties and also support the new Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, who is spearheading the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan in the aviation sector.
He further charged them to continue to give maximum support to the authorities of NCAT and FAAN, in their collective quest to implement the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government.
Earlier, Hajia Taibat Abubakar, the Airport manager, who was delighted by the visit, took the opportunity to brief the MD/CEO on their activities.
She enumerated the challenges facing their operations and assured the Authority of their continued support.
The MD assured them that management will look into their requirements.
