FAAN’s Equipping Airports with Modern Gadgets- Uriesi

George Uriesi, managing director of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has said that his agency was committed to equipping the nation’s airports with modern, state-of-the-art facilities, in line with global trends.

He said that transforming the  nation’s airports into self-sustaining industry was achievable through a conducive business environment that would be attractive to the private sector.

Uriesi made the remarks in a strategic session with the management of the Authority in Lagos  charged staff to internalize the aviation master plan in order to enhance efficiency in service delivery at all Nigerian airports.

The FAAN boss maintained that translating the vision and mission of the Authority into realizable and achievable building blocks by the staff is a sine qua non in their operations.

He tasked  top management to put into practice strategic imperatives acquired from the just concluded ministerial retreat held for the top management of aviation parastatals by the Federal Ministry Aviation.

Uriesi said that the strategic thrust of that retreat was to make air transport a preferred and safest means of transportation. It was also designed to create a self-sustaining business model and develop socio-economic growth in Nigeria.

He then charged the members of the Authority’s Leadership Team to mobilize their immediate staff, aviation stakeholders and the general public to participate actively in on-going transformation of Nigerian airports.
