FPG Delighted Over BoICT’17, Wins Cyber Security Product of The Year Award

Mr. Rex Mafiana, chief executive officer of FPG Technologies & Solutions Limited, has expressed delight with the organization of 2017 Beacon of ICT Distinguished Lecture/Awards, saying the Company was overwhelmed with the nomination and eventually clinching the category.

FPG was honoured as “Cyber Security Product Company of the Year” at the award ceremony held over the weekend at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites.

Speaking to our Correspondent immediately after receiving the award, Mr. Mafiana said, “I am happy; feeling elated but surprised that we won the award. I do not know how we got nominated. Frankly, I am delighted that we made it. It also shows that we are been recognized for the things we have been doing in the IT space especially as it concerns IT and Digital sovereignty and IT security”.

He said that FPG which supports local content development also believes in the internationalization of such products to gain international recognitions, even as citizens of the global village.

“As much as I am patriotic and would canvass for indigenous IT development, I think we need the foreign partners to achieve that; it is step by step. Today, there are companies in Nigeria making payment cards and working on identity management; IT security products and others. So, when the bases are right we can then move it forward. It is important we get the initial IT projects and development right from start by working with trusted names.

“Actually, technology is global and today if you are not practicing protectionism, technology can come from anyway”.

He described FPG as having the capability to offer end-to-end ICT security. “I dare say we are the only Company that can offer end-to-end security from what we call: Risks and Context-based Security (RCS) all the way to data. Is it in users, network, data, mobile, cloud or anything that has to do with technology requiring security and as of today, we can offer it in Nigeria”, Mr. Mafiana said.

“To CommunicationsWeek: they overwhelmed me. I want to say to CommunicationsWeek: keep the flag flying, because I was surprised about the caliber of heavyweights the lecture and award series pulled today (Saturday). I am impressed, not just with the quality of the organization, but the people, appreciation of people’s efforts in this industry. For me, we are known in the IT security space in Nigeria, but honestly, how we got nominated I can’t tell. We have built a brand around our practices. This is very meritorious and they should keep it up. 

“To our customers, I want to say that without you we couldn’t have made it this far. So, we really appreciate your trust, confidence and continued patronage. In in the course of this award voting, many of the customers called me to attest they voted for us. We will never let you down,” he expressed.
