Globacom Limited has announced the appointment of Ibrahim Fadipe as the Head of Glo Gateway, its International Wholesale Voice and Data Exchange and Trading Business Unit. His appointment takes immediate effect.
According to a statement from the office of Globacom’s Chairman, Fadipe’s appointment is aimed at refocusing Globacom’s Gateway subsidiary to continue to play a leading role in the global telecommunications industry, especially in an increasingly competitive environment.
Glo Gateway is currently a leading provider of telephone hubbing services for the rest of the world. Globacom is the first operator in Africa to launch gateway switches outside the continent to carry international voice and data traffic.
Prior to his recent appointment, Fadipe was Glo Mobile’s Zonal Coordinator for Port Harcourt and the South East zones, with responsibility for sales forecasts, budgets and coordination of roll- out activities in Enugu, Ebonyi, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa, Abia, Imo, Anambra and Akwa Ibom states.
He also worked as Regional Manager, overseeing Globacom’s sales activities in Niger, Kebbi, Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina states where he ensured availability of stock to the trade partners and subscribers. He also coordinated and ensured effective handling of customer care issues and the smooth functioning of the network elements.
Fadipe who speaks English, Yoruba and Hausa was born in Kano. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University in 1989 and an MBA from the same institution in 1995.
Globacom is Nigeria’s Second National Operator (SNO), providing world class telecommunications solutions and offering digital mobile services (GSM), national carrier service (fixed line), international gateway and on-line services.
