In line with its commitment to best practices and prompt claims settlement, Oceanic Insurance said it has paid claims totaling N497m since its inception in 2006.
It said that claims settled in 2008 totalled N281.8m for motor and non-motor policies across the nation.
Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, Chairman OIG said that claims paid reinforced the commitment of the firm to spearheading a new dawn of professionalism and customer-specific superior service delivery in the nations insurance sector.
She said “the test of insurance companies is their ability to pay claims. We have in place a formidable claims administration process that facilitates hitch-free assessment of claims notices and subsequent prompt payment. This is our promise to our clients and we are always committed to keeping our word”.
She added that Oceanic Insurance backed up by Oceanic Bank is using extensive bancassurance channels to take insurance products and services to Nigerians, including those in the grassroots.
Ibru assured firms that the firm was committed to excellent performance and superior service delivery in the sector.
She explained that the company would further enhance its earnings and service delivery profiles by leveraging on the bancassurance edge it enjoys through its relationship with Oceanic Bank International Plc.
On boosting insurance awareness in Nigeria, Ibru said the Oceanic Insurance Group was pioneering a customer-focused campaign that would enhance insurance awareness and patronage in Nigeria.
