Ije, a film produced by US-based Chineze Anyaene, had a sneak preview recently in Jos, drawing commendations from the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) boss Afolabi Adesanya, for a job well done.
Featuring two of Nigeria’s best female actors Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Ekehinde, it drew a large crowd of Nollywood fans to the screening room of the NFC, venue of the sneak preview.
Anyaene expressed gratitude to the NFC for the tremendous technical assistance extended to her during the film shoot, commending the corporation’s capacity to assist and support filmmakers in Nigeria.
According to her, filmmakers in the Diaspora have been following the successes recorded in Nollywood, which explains why they are now eager to partner Nigerian filmmakers from script-to-screen.
Ije is a film of a fight for legal freedom from an alleged murder charge, and was shot in US and Nigerian locations.
Adesanya pledged NFC’s commitment towards assisting filmmakers whose works stand to boost the Nigeria’s creative economy.
