Intercontinental Bank Plc has announced plans to celebrate its 20 years of successful banking with bountiful reward scheme for new and existing loyal customers. 
Dr Erastus Akingbola, group chief executive said highlights of the scheme include giving out household items such as Plasma TV, refrigerators, home theatres, generators and other prizes to customers in the first phase.
He said the bank would give out cars and motor cycles as reward to customers for their loyalty in the second phase of the reward scheme, pointing out that the bank has lined up series of activities and events to mark the anniversary prominent among which is the packaging of a reward bonanza.
The reward spree being planned is spread across the bank’s spectrum of products and is predicated on new accounts opened, incremental growth in demand and savings account deposits and for those who activate or increase the frequency of the use of their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
Mrs. Folake Adeoye, tbank’s divisional chief executive, retail banking, mentioned that customers who open new accounts within the period will get an instant gift, ranging from ball pen to wrist band.
“Please note that this is not a promotion but a reward spree, as everybody that qualifies is a winner”, she said, adding that for customers to win under the Intercontinental Diamond Fund (IDF) they are expected to increase their deposit for the product, assuring that such gifts shall be delivered to them within one month.
With the consolidation of the banking industry in 2005, the bank emerged one of the biggest banks in Nigeria, a development later boosted by the Banker Magazine London’s rating of Intercontinental Bank as the number five bank in Africa and among the top 500 in the world.
Intercontinental Bank has evolved into one of the largest and most diversified financial service groups in Nigeria with about ten subsidiaries in all sub-sectors of the financial sector.  The Intercontinental Group is made up of Intercontinental Wapic Insurance Plc, Intercontinental Capital Markets Limited, Intercontinental Homes & Savings Limited, and Intercontinental Properties Limited which is into real estate.
It also has EBN Securities Limited and Intercontinental Finance and Investment Limited all involved in stock market business.
