Interswitch, Nigeria’s premier electronic transaction switching and payment processing company has rolled out Quickteller services, its value added service platform on all available payment channels on its network.
 Currently, there are over 30 million cardholders, majority of who mainly carry out cash withdrawal at the ATMs. Interswitch has introduced Quickteller service platform, which provides airtime recharge and utility bill payment across the channels (ATMs, Web, mobile, PoS etc) network in order to enable cardholder and partners derive better value out of their existing investments.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Director of the company, Mr. Mitchell Elegbe explained that Quickteller platform has been specially developed and designed based on market requirement and the desire is to bring more value to partners and cardholders on the Interswitch network.
He added that as a dynamic organization, “we are evolving an array of services available across the channels on the network in order to enable our cardholders and partners derive better value from their time and money. More services will be developed as need arises. The main objective is to make the Quick Teller platform robust enough to allow it houses as many services as possible.”
 According to him, the benefits of Quickteller to the cardholders and its partners include 24 hours a day, 7 days a week accessibility and payment convenience. Take DSTV for example, now cardholders can pay for their subscription payments on the ATM, Web, or a PoS terminal and receive instant reconnection irrespective of whether they have been disconnected previously or not”.
 Cardholders can also pay bills such as Zain pre-and-post paid bills, HiTV, MTN, IPNX, and a host of others. Donations for the Interswitch CSR campaign “Switch-A-Future” can also be made to Freedom Foundation using the Quickteller service platform.
 The Quickteller platform also enables direct top-ups or recharge of mobile phone for subscribers on MTN, Zain, Glow and Starcomms and Visafone networks.
Mr. Charles Ifedi, Director of Payment Solutions, further explained that with the introduction of the Quickteller value added service platform, corporate organisations can now provide 24/7 payment access to their customers across all channels, and get consolidated reports detailing information on all payments made irrespective of bank branch or the payment channel used, thus increasing revenue and reducing operating costs of the corporate.
“Money transfer services such as bank-to-bank, bank-to-ATM, mobile-to-ATM and inter-bank transfers will soon be activated on the Quickteller platform”, he added.
The Quickteller services are currently available on all Interswitch enabled channels. For ATMs, the banks that are live on the platform include GTB, Skye, Firstbank, Intercontinental, Afribank, StanbicIBTC, FCMB, Wema, Oceanic, Union Bank, Fidelity and Finbank with more to come. These banks now provide Quickteller services to cardholders across all their ATMs nationwide.
