A while ago, I wrote on how knowledge sharing economy can improve Nigeria's development. No doubt, knowledge sharing economy has witnessed an exponential growth curve and has been of considerable interest to the stakeholders in the ecosystem around the world, hence, we cannot stop talking about it for now. I recently had a chat with a practitioner with a Start-up in the field of knowledge sharing economy, to have a feel of the goings on in that sector.

He is Felix Dung, the founder of Askanexpert.expert. He shared the concept of knowledge sharing economy, why he ventured into it, his view on the possibility of the solution impacting positively on Nigeria and the challenges faced.

On his take on knowledge sharing economy, he stated that it had been in existence right from time immemorial. As humans and social beings, we are always sharing experiences and ideas among each other.

Knowledge sharing economy, from the tech perspective, he stated is, therefore, using different use available in technology to easily share those knowledge. These tools include the social media tools of Facebook, etc., where people are sharing information, ideas, pictures and experiences, and what they do among themselves.

Breaking down the concept of knowledge sharing economy, Felix said that it stems from the fact that the people want to grow and evolve in the tech space where we have come a long way from the industrial age to the current information where we are in today.

The information era, he said, brought about the internet , giving the boost to people having access to tons of information which has actually enriched the manner in which new ideas and initiatives have evolved globally. People, Felix said, now have the opportunity to share these knowledge globally.

When he was asked point blank, whether it is possible for this to make s difference in Nigeria, Felix I'd of the opinion that it is possible because, those who do not know, learn from those who do, to enrich their knowledge.

Sharing his reason why he chose this line of solution, he said it is about time that we start engaging each other collectively and productivity to make a difference.

The idea, he went on, is to create on-demand private messaging solution to connect to experts in a field for mentoring and coaching, etc., so that people get the right information at the right time, so they can be more productive, save time and be more efficient, etc. He, therefore, sees the Askanexpert.expert, as an enabling toil to help connect people in the ecosystem.

On the challenges he has faced so far in establishing this Start-up, Felix said he never anticipated that it will take 2 years to cone up with this kind of solution.

Some of the challenges, he identified include the dearth of funding, lack of support and the difficulty in getting to sell the idea to the experts because these experts are critical to the success of the whole project.

These challenges are, however, not making him to to back down, rather, he is forging ahead to see that he succeeds in this project.
