Viewers across Africa are in for a treat this month as AfricaMagic makes Thursday nights hilarious by screening some of the best comedy movies on the continent.
Starting this Thursday, viewers can tune in for the highly acclaimed Nigerian comedy 2 RATS (part 1 and part 2) at 8pm. Directed by Andy Chukwu, the movie features two of Nollywood’s top actors, Osita Iheme (Bobo) and Chinedu Ikedieze,.
The story features around Bobo (Iheme) and A-boy Ikedieze, two young boys whose father has been murdered by their uncle. In a selfish move, the uncle wants them to work as house boys in their father's own house. A-boy and Bobo have other plans. Dubbed Nollywood's Home Alone, this hilarious comedy is a must see.
Meanwhile on Thurday February 11 at 8pm, viewers can tune in for Mr. Ibu (part 1 and part 2). Starring John Okafor and Osita Iheme, this is comedy at its best and will be loved by both young and old.
John Okafor a.k.a. Mr. Ibu, is unquestionably one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters. Meanwhile Okafor is best known for his humourous acting which is often characterised by stupidity, hilarious imbecility and a sharp disconnection from reality. Tune in and catch the two in London and watch how the drama and comedy unfolds.
Also forming part of AfricaMagic’s comedy month is the 2003 film, Aki na Ukwa, airing on Thursday February 18 which starred and launched the careers of Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze. Directed by Amayo Uzo Phillips, the comedy is about two young brothers, who cause disruption at home and wreak havoc at school.
Rounding off AfricaMagic’s comedy month on February 25 is Cat and Rat,
featuring Osita Iheme, Chinedu Ikedieze and Chinwetalu Agu.
The story revolves around Ogbu and Kalu, two mischievous school boys. Doing anything to draw attention to the opposite sex, their father believes they are rascals and should be brought up with an iron fist. However in the eyes of their mother, the boys can do no wrong.
