Main One Appoints Team for Commercial Operation

A head the landing of its submarine cable, Main One Cable Company has appointed top management staff in preparation for offering commercial services starting from the middle of this year.
Among the new appointments is Mr. Babatunde Dada as its Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Mr. Dada, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, was until his appointment the Group Chief Finance Officer of Hygeia Group. A 1995 Master’s Degree holder in Banking and Finance, Mr. Dada has multifaceted finance experience spanning close to three decades. He started his career at KPMG, formerly Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co in 1981 and later joined Mobil Oil Nigeria PLC where he rose to the position of Associate Accountant, Treasury.
Mr. Dada joined MBC International Bank Ltd in August 1991 and rose to the position of General Manager and Group Head, Corporate and Investment Banking, a position he held until December 2005. He was Head of Aviation and Telecoms Group with the Corporate and Investment Banking Directorate of First Bank until December 2006. Mr. Dada is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nig. (CITN), and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
The new Legal Counsel to the Company is Mr. Kazeem Oladepo, who until this appointment was the Director of Corporate Strategy and Development at Starcomms Plc. He has also served as the Manager, Legal and Regulatory as well as the Company Secretary of Starcomms and led the transformation of Starcomms Plc from a private company to a public company.   Mr. Oladepo has experience in legal, regulatory, permitting, commercial activities and transactions and has also been involved in implementing strategic policies within the Nigerian telecommunications industry.  He is on the Board of Trustees of the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (Alton).
In the technical arena, Main One announced the appointment of Mr. Johnnie Coleman and Mr. Ifiok Moses as Head, Network Planning and Implementation and Head, Network Operations respectively.
Prior to joining Main One, Mr. Coleman worked at the leading edge of network and system integration for 16 years across West Africa.  Mr. Coleman was recently the Chief Technology Officer for Internet Solutions Operations in Nigeria and Ghana and prior to that General Manager for Technology in Accelon, Nigeria.
Mr. Moses has over 20 years of post graduate experience spanning information technology and telecommunications, and was recently Head of Department, Network Operations, Power and Environmental Management at Zain Nigeria. Prior to that, he was at various times Head of Lagos Regional Operations and Manager Satellite Transmission at Zain. Between 1999 and 2002, he was Head, Internet Services at Broadband Technologies Limited, Lagos; Executive Director at Cyberspace Limited, Nigeria between 1995 and 1999; and Network Support Manager at Data Sciences Nigeria Limited from 1989 to 1995.
