MTV Base Extra Smooth Parties Thrill Enthusiasts

The second edition of the Club MTV Base Extra Smooth urban club parties, which took place in various Nigerian cities recently with the fun train making a final stop in the city of aquatic splendour - Lagos.
The Club MTV Base Extra Smooth party concept is a partnership between Guinness Extra Smooth and MTV Base, a music channel that enjoys wide viewership in Africa. The show exploited the enormous appeal of urban club culture, even as it anchored on the success of the 2007 edition, which was the first ever.
There were six “kick-ass” party events between August and December of last year in which music fans and party enthusiasts were treated to the hottest hip-hop jamz by DJs from Nigeria and abroad.
Hosted by Cynthia Okpala, MTV VJ, the exclusive events broke first in Abuja, spreading to Jos, Enugu and Calabar, where party goers had the best of fun, and there was never a dull moment.
The Abuja urban club party experience was like fireworks and the somewhat conservative federal capital territory was ignited by the best of music and entertainment by both international and local acts.
The next fun spots were Enugu and Pinnacle Nite Club in the beautiful city of Calabar where DJ Midas and DJ Snoop D Damager, both from Lagos teamed up with DJ Whoo Kid from U.S.; and it was quite an experience which all present would not forget in a hurry.
The Benin leg took place at Naomi Gardens on the highbrow Government Residential Area in the heart of the ancient city where the fun continued unstopped. This was followed the next day by the grand finale party at the Nu Grutto Nite Club in VI where a huge number of party enthusiasts were thrilled by beats from the kings of the turntable including DJ Jam and other spinners.
The height of the Lagos party was when DJ Jam, the stylish and creative international “turntablist” who has worked with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G, Bobby Brown and Chante Moore, and known for discovering Bow Wow in Ohio back in 1993; treated the Extra Smooth party boys and girls to slamming jams from top rated American music acts; which kept them on their feet till the wee hours of the next morning.
