MultiChoice, leading pay TV company, won the most prestigious Africa Brand of the Year award as well as Pay TV Brand of the Year award at the 5th edition of the Marketing World Awards which held in Lagos recently.
Also at the award ceremony, Mr. Martin Mabutho, general manager, Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria was given a special recognition award as the Marketing Professional of the Year.
While receiving the awards on behalf of the company, Mabutho thanked the organizers of the awards for the recognitions.
He acknowledged that although it had been a challenging year, the company nonetheless remained steadfast to its resolve to provide Nigerians with quality entertainment and innovative services.
“We are truly honored to have emerged winners in these categories. I want to specially thank our subscribers for their loyalty through the years. I would like to dedicate these awards to them and to the entire marketing team at MultiChoice”, he said.
MultiChoice emerged Africa Brand of the Year beating other nominees; Dangote, Standard Bank, MTN and Shoprite. DStv also trumped other nominees ACTV, Montage, Consat and Startimes to win Pay TV Brand of the Year.
The Marketing World Awards (MWA) is organized to celebrate the excellence, creativity and achievements of the marketing industry by rewarding outstanding performance across the integrated marketing communication industry. The theme for this year’s award ceremony was tagged “Breaking the mould in marketing excellence”. The ceremony had in attendance major players in the marketing industry across various sectors of the economy, who gathered to celebrate outstanding marketing achievements in over twenty categories of the award.
