The management of Nigeria Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO Aviance) has announced the appointment of Ahmed Tijjani Uwais and Hadiza Aliko Mohammed as director and independent director respectively. The most recent appointee is Mr. Segun Omotosho as head, Human Resources.
Omotosho is a graduate of the University of Ife where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in economics, and he also has an MBA specialising in human resources management (HR).
Omotosho has over 24 years human resources and consulting experience spanning various sectors of the economy. Prior to his current appointment, he served as National Recruitment manager to acting head, HR at Nigerdock Nig.Plc FZE (In the Oil and Gas/Maritime Sector). He also started the Consultancy and Research Department of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
His competencies span the entire human resource value chain with leading roles in recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, organizational design and development, employee/industrial relations, learning and development, change management and diversity dynamics.
He is also an associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and currently serves as member of the strategic planning and implementation committee of the CIPM.
Omotosho is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in further strengthening nahco aviance to becoming an employer of choice.
On the other hand Uwais is a Principal Counsel, Ahmed Uwais & Co, Abuja. He worked as Counsel and Senior Counsel at Abdullahi Ibrahim & Company, Kaduna between 1995 and 1998, Managing Partner, Wuli, Uwais & Co, Abuja, between 1998 and 2003.
He attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos for his BL (Practicing Certificate) from 1994 to 1995, after obtaining an LLB from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Oyo State in 1994. Before then,he was at the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1990 and 1991.
Uwais is a member of various professional bodies such as: Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, Capital Market Solicitors and an Associate, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nigeria).
He is also a Co-Editor of the Nigerian Monthly Law Reports and has been nominated to the Board of Directors of NAHCO aviance to represent Sycor Private Investment Limited, which recently acquired 8.93% of the company’s shares.
Aliko Mohammed as Independent Director, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance, London, United Kingdom, in 2007, as well as a Bsc in Business Studies and Sociology from Roehampton Institute of Higher Education (University of Surrey), 1989 amongst others.

Aliko Mohammed has several publications to her credit, and has worked at different organisations at directorship levels; she is currently the Managing Director, Turner Building Products Limited.
She is expected to bring her wealth of experience to bear on the Board of NAHCO Aviance.
