The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has urged management of Galaxy Backbone Plc to ensure efficient telecommunications service delivery at the nation’s airports.

Mr Ibrahim Abdulsalam, managing director of NAMA made the call when he led a delegation to the Galaxy Backbone headquarters on a courtesy visit in Abuja.

According to Mr Supo Atobatele, general manager, Public Affairs, NAMA, Galaxy Backbone Plc, is the Information Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure provider charged with providing effective telecommunications service delivery at the nation’s airports.

NAMA boss urged the ICT provider to develop a strategic work plan that would enable the agency to continue to provide cutting edge telecoms services to airports across the country.

“Galaxy backbone is the sole provider of telecommunications services within the aviation environment. And their mission is to strengthen the existing business relationship between the two organisations, so there is need to  develop a strategic work plan for effective service delivery,’’ Abdulsalam was quoted as saying.

Mr Gerald Ilukwe, out-going managing director, Galaxy Backbone, commended NAMA for guaranteeing the safety of the nation’s airspace.

Ilukwe said: “This collaboration would further boost NAMA’s record of efficiency and excellence in service delivery in Nigeria.''

He later led the NAMA team to inspect facilities such as the Primary Data Centre, Network Operations Centre and the Satellite Dish Farm.
