The National Conference on ICT Outsourcing in Nigeria is to take place in June with the official launch of Outsourcing Development Initiative of Nigeria (ODIN) by Prof. Dora Akunyili, minister of Information and Communications, in Abuja.
The conference which is holding for the first time in Nigeria will discuss issues on business process outsourcing and information technology enabled sectors, among others.
It will also discuss problems facing ICT and outsourcing such as infrastructure, network, capacity building, legal and regulatory framework, public relations and advocacy, as well as administration.
The programme which is a World Bank initiative in collaboration with ODIN is to map out ways of growing a domestic market for outsourcing and creating effective business environment for international clients.
Ernest Ndukwe, executive vice chairman, NCC will deliver a key note address at the one day event, while Ismail Radwan, African Finance and Private Sector Development officer, World Bank, and David Onu, CEO, Interra Networks are to speak on the benefits of outsourcing.
Participants are expected from Galaxy Backbone Nigeria, NCC, Abuja Technology Village, Nigerian National Volunteer Scheme, Aso Savings and Loans, Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, as well as IT industry practitioners and members of the academia.
