NBC Redeploys Key Staff to Boost Efficiency

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has announced a major shakeup, with new postings affecting the zonal operations as well as directorates.
The Commission in a statement signed by Mallam Awwalu Salihu, head of Public Affairs, informed that its Board of Management approved the redeployment of some of the key officers to further enhance the effective regulation of the industry, in line with emerging challenges in the broadcast industry.
The new deployments are also part of the efforts of the Commission to ensure the optimal utilization of available human and material resources in performing its statutory functions to the public.
With the reorganisation, Mrs. Benedette Otonoku becomes the new zonal director Ibadan, Mallam Ibrahim Wada, zonal director Maiduguri; Mallam Mohammed Nanu, zonal director Sokoto; while Mr. Isaac Ogor heads the Benin zone.
The Former zonal director Sokoto, Mr. Usman Okinobanyi Audu is now zonal director, Abuja; while  Mr. Chris Okoyomoh, Mrs. Bunmi Cole, Dr. Armstrong Idachaba, and Dr. Igomu Onoja have been redployed respectively from Benin, Ibadan, Abuja and Maiduguri zones to reinforce the headquarters.
Others include Mr. Tony Anigala who moves from Abuja to Jos, and Mrs. Agnes Ukpo who swaps from Jos zonal office to Makurdi state office alongside Messrs. Moses Oguche and Siyaka Abu.
The redeployed officers have since assumed duties in their respective new postings with effect from last week.
It would be recalled that two key directorates at the headquarters of the Commission also had their directors swapped in May, as part of its ongoing reorganisation. Mr. Mark Ojiah became the director of Broadcast Content and Zonal Coordination, while Mr. Tom Chatta took charge as director of Broadcast Policy and Research.
