The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) Kaduna Office has stepped up its enlightenment of stakeholders in the movie industry on the provisions of the Copyright Act NCC Kaduna Office State Coordinator, Mrs. Rukayyat Muhammed who disclosed this during a consultative meeting with stakeholders under the auspices of Film and Song Downloaders Association Kaduna (FISDAK),in the Commission’s Office recently.

She indicated that the chairman, Mr. Shuaibu Dan Mangu led representatives of the Association to the NCC Kaduna Office to seek copyright clarification on their operation, adding that the Commission guided the association in streamlining their activities in conformity with the Act.

The State Coordinator noted that the NCC remained committed to sensitising stakeholders on the mandates of the Commission.

Meanwhile, the NCC Kaduna Office has, in collaboration with Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN), sensitised the State Chapter of Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) on the importance of Collective Management Societies (CMOs) and royalty payment.

Speaking at the event held at Chimchery Hotel and Suites, Barnawa, the State Coordinator used the occasion to reiterate the role of CMOs in the value chain of music distribution. Mrs. Muhammed noted the meeting which was also attended by representatives of MCSN, Kano Chapter, was very interactive.
