EnergyNet, an organizer of global investment meetings and executive dialogues for Africa’s power sector, will be hosting the private sector-led Power Investors Summit in Lagos from March 20th to 21st to facilitate discussions between senior-level executives active in Nigeria’s power sector post-privatisation.
Professor Chinedu Nebo, minister for Power, will be attending the Summit which will enable key stakeholders in the public and private sector to discuss ways to maximize energy opportunities in Africa.
EnergyNet brings the Power Investors Summit to Nigeria in partnership with Nextier Capital Limited, an investment and advisory capital firm focus on agriculture, power and petroleum.
Last year’s summit featured major stakeholders and international investors from a wide array of sectors, including banking, government, law, oil and gas, trade, mining, and power.
The audience members included decision makers at major companies, as well as government officials and consultants.
This year’s conference will feature segments from various experts in the power sector and will focus on a vast range of topics, from the fundamentals of Independent Power Producer (IPP) development to outlining human capital development strategies in the power sector.
“The aim is to not only highlight investment, but also to identify ways to promote the sector’s viability,” said Simon Gosling, managing director at EnergyNet.
“The summit will provide an open forum to help facilitate clear and open discussions for individuals vested in the power industry.”
Other speakers at the event will include Reynolds Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Power; Professor Bart Nnaji, the Founder / CEO of Geometric Power Limited; Uche Orji, the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority.
Attendees will also have the chance to expand their knowledge by attending master classes focusing on providing a comprehensive picture of the privatization process. There will also be a Ministerial Roundtable, which will enable ministerial officials to share their strategy and vision for Nigeria’s development, as well as help identify major bottlenecks in furthering the development of the power sector.
