The top nationalities for spend in Heathrow Luxury retail and VIP services is occupied by Nigerians, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek can report.

Although the statistics did not disclose the total amount spent by Nigeria since the opening of the Services, but it shows that Nigerians lead other nationalities including Chinese, British, Emirati, Qatari, Egyptian, Saudi Arabian, Bahrain, Indian, Malaysian, American and Russian as the most any VIP has spent with the Personal Shopping Service was £29,833 by a Nigerian.

Established in October 2013, the Personal Shopping service is available to all passengers ­flying through the airport.

It gives passengers access to more than 140 retail and luxury brands, matching the variety and quality of London’s high-end shopping districts such as Bond Street, Sloane Street and Knightsbridge.

Heathrow Luxury retail and VIP services also provides the passenger with a dedicated Personal Shopper to accompany them to the terminal of their choice, for consultation during their purchases

Personal shoppers cater to language requirements with staff members who are fl­uent in 38 languages including Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo.

Meanwhile, the statistics shows that 70% of passengers who shop at Heathrow luxury retail buy something airside and the average spend per buyer is £39.

While, the most any VIP has spent with the Personal Shopping Service was £29,833 by a Nigerian, Nigerians buy a variety of goods but the most popular items are watches, jewelry, handbags, fragrances and technological devices.

Nigerian passengers also like to have products personalised and at Heathrow you can get leather goods from Louis Vuitton, Smythson and Mulberry embossed with your initials. Fortnum & Masons also over personalised champagne bottles, the document revealed.

Other services available to passengers are free pre-fl­ight beauty treatments with over 100 free beauty treatments from hand massages to facials from brands such as Jo Malone and Crème de la Mer.

A Michelin meal – the only airport in the world with two restaurants created by Michelin starred chefs (Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay).

Lounges - Heathrow has 7 independent lounges for those not ­ying in a premium class such as Plaza Premium in Terminal 2 (o‑ering passengers the option to sleep, shower and use its spa facilities) and No.1 Traveller in Terminal 3.
