In separate ceremonies held in December of 2015 in Bangladesh and in Indonesia, the state of the art innovation and vision of the electronic identity card, which is presently being issued in Nigeria, was recognized by frontline industry players and watchers.
The Commission was recognized at the Radiant e-ID Award in the category of innovation and Vision in e-ID Solutions and Technology at the PAN Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh, recently.

Parameters for arriving at the winning entries included vision, foresight and imagination of identity systems, including but not limited to architectures, processes and technologies.
In the same vein, on the 8 of December, 2015 in faraway Jakarta, Indonesia, NIMC and the Nigeria National eID Card bagged the High Security Print Asia Awards for best-in-class as the Regional ID Document of the Year 2015.
