In a renewed bid to reposition its training Institute, Asiwaju Bisi Adegbuyi, post master general/chief executive officer of Nigeria Postal Services (NIPOST) has approved the appointment of Dr Simon Emeje as the new Director.
Prior to his recent appointment, Dr. Emeje worked as the senior assistant postmaster general and pioneer head of Courier Regulatory Department (CRD) of NIPOST.
His appointment was approved, according to a source at the PMG's office, was based on Dr. Emeje's outstanding performance and meritorious service in CRD.
He is expected to unleash his wealth of experience in courier/postal sector to reposition the Institute for improved human capacity development in NIPOST.
During his time at CRD, Dr. Emeje's expertise earned him the chairmanship of both the Pan-African Postal Union Work Group (PAPUWG) and West African Postal Council Work Group (WAPCWG) on Reform and Network Profitability in West Africa sub-region.
He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), Fellow of African Centre of Supply Chain (FACSC), Fellow of Courier and Logistics Institute (FCLI), and many other feathers to his professional cap.
Dr. Emeje hails from Dekina in Dekina Local Government of Kogi State. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (BSc) Political Science, Master of Science (MSc), Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and University of Benin, respectively.
He also had his Ph.D from the University of Ibadan where he specialised in Public Policy at the Department of Political Science.
His Ph.D dissertation was on the Post. Dr. Emeje has published a number of journal articles and books on the Post, Management, Politics and Economics.
