Winners of the Nokia Photo Stars competition have emerged. The competition which began with the launch of the Nokia 6700, Nokia 6303 and Nokia 2700 saw a total of 4 persons emerge from within the regions. The prize presentation which took place at Nokia Office in Lagos was witnessed by top media men. The 4 winners each were selected from –Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt geographical zones.
The Nokia Photo Star Promo which ran from November 30, 2009 to March 30, 2010 is one of Nokia’s many ways of showing love to Nigerians and thus further bonding with its teeming consumers and the public. The Star prizes included a total package of offering each winner a chance to feature each of her winning photos in a Nokia Advert, a Nokia 6700 phone, and N100, 000.00 Naira worth of shopping voucher.
The winners competed and won in four categories Kids Snaps: All the cutest baby snaps and funny things kids do (ages 0-10), Fashionistas: Show off your unique fashion sense, Weird and Silly: From funny to obscure and bizarre and Holiday: Interesting views (nature), fun and cool stuff respectively.
Winners of the 4 Star prizes include Oluwaseun babara funmi Adedokun ( Kids Snap, Abuja ), Bimode Anigilaje ( Fashionistas, Lagos ),Uchendu Chidinma ( Holiday, Abuja ), Shamor Omo Oye (Weird and Silly, Lagos ).
Speaking at the prize ceremony, Beatrice Olumhense, Nokia’s West Africa Solutions Marketing manager in Nigeria, said, the Nokia Photo Stars competition is a free entry competition with the aim of encouraging conversations through engaging pictures. The theme of the campaign is, ‘Pictures get us talking’. It has been an exciting experience for everyone who participated. It gives us joy to contribute in some way to making Nigerian discover more of whom they are and bond with family and friends through Photos. There are so many exciting things we do that we need to let people know about.
She added, “In our way, we are saying, Nokia loves Nigeria. We wish our entire winners a fun time enjoying their prizes and we assure you at Nokia that we will remain committed to giving you the very best in mobile communications.”
