Communication Week Media Limited, publishers of Nigeria CommunicationsWeek newspaper and daily newsletters, on Tuesday announced threw its portal open to the general public to vote for nominees of this Beacon of ICT Awards.
The BoICT Awards were instituted to reward the vision and enterprise of individuals and companies that have contributed to the growth of the ICT industry in Nigeria.
The public are allowed to cast their votes by email- [email protected] or through voting on a portal created on the website-www.nigeriacommunicationsweek.com.ng/beacon-of-ict-awards-2014 for the purpose on the company’s website.
Commenting on this year’s awards, Ken Nwogbo, chief executive officer, Communication Week Media Limited, said that, “The merit- centric celebration honours finest and brightest companies and individuals who have helped put Nigeria on the global ICT map”.
Beacon of ICT Awards is an annual industry wide celebration that recognizes deserving talents, contributions and commitments to the growth of the ICT industry.
Over the years, the awards motivate stakeholders in effective utilization of ICT for citizen’s services and ensure that ICT professionals are provided a benchmark for recognizing and validating outstanding contribution.
Being the authoritative voice of ICT and how they affect lives, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek is uniquely placed to view government and business organizations as well as individuals’ contributions, creativity and excellence in the application of ICTs and solutions.
Now in its fifth year, the Beacon of ICT awardees are chosen by Nigerians who recognize and appreciate the guiding lights of the organizations and individuals as well as the symbols of hope they raise.
The awards categories feature Nigeria CommunicationsWeek “Man of the Year”, “Broadband Company of the Year”, “Most innovative Player of the Year”, “GSM Effective Customer Care Operator of the Year”, among other categories. The awards are meant to individuals and firms that integrated ICT into IT, Banking and Finance, Aviation, Maritime, Courier/Postal services in the country, among others.
The online voting which commenced on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 closes on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
