With her daring moves, Adebola did a good rendition of ‘You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman’ by Celine Dion. Next on the line was Ibadan babe, Yetunde. Dressing and acting the part, she performed Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’. She got a resounding ovation from the beautiful presentation. The Judges could not but commend her on this brilliant feat.
Eyo, the Akwa Ibom fine boy was up for the show. Stepping out from the audience, he did a good rendition of Kenny Rogers ‘Three Times A Lady’. Joecelia was not left out in the contest for excellence. She did a song by Diana Ross titled ‘It’s My House’. The guy with the Ghana Swagger came up as usual to wow the audience. With his guitar, he sang ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’ by Bob Dylan. Once again Kesse impressed the judges with this breath taking performance.
Will Rhoda run away with the Judges, leaving the Academy behind? Despite her voice loss earlier she gave a brilliant rendition of The Corrs’ ‘Runaway’. She swayed round the stage as her sonorous voice embraced the audience. The Judges confessed they just felt like running away with her.
Next was Vwede. Quite sure he was not expecting the hard knock he got from the Judges after his rendition of Berlin’s ‘Take My Breath Away’. This caused a huge controversy between the Faculty and the Judges.
Tolu, dressed like a Marshal gave a sizzling performance. Serenading a girl, he proudly sang Rod Stewart’s ‘First Cut Is The Deepest’. He was rewarded with a resounding ovation from audience. Next was big boy Ochuko, who did not impress the Judges enough with his performance. He managed through Phil Collins’ ‘One More Night’, but the Faculty excused his not too comfortable performance for his a sprained leg.
Christian came up with his usual attitude, as he earned himself a standing ovation, singing Simply Red’s ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’. With a lot of energy to make up for her voice loss, Helen performed ‘Like A Prayer’ by Madonna. Her fellow contestants expressed their love as they joined in the performance.
The last act for the night was by small but Mighty Chidinma. She has evolved into a woman. She commanded emotions with her breath-taking rendition of Mariah Carey’s ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’. Frank Edoho could not keep his excitement and surprise at such a sweet performance that he requested for an autograph from this angel who sang her way into the hearts of everyone present.
Monica and Shehu finally met with eager fans at the Eviction Party. Amidst the fun and excitement they were warmly welcomed to The Place at Ikeja GRA.
Before hitting the dance floor, Monica sang ‘Still the One’ by Shania Twain while Shehu sang ‘Everything I Do’ by Bryan Adams for the listening pleasure of their fans.
