Rave TV Clocks 1, Set to Open Trend 100.9 FM Asaba

RAVE Television Channel, Nigeria’s dynamic, thriving, youths and public oriented interactive multi-broadcast channel at its first anniversary has announced plans to launch a sister Radio Station, TREND 100.9 FM in Asaba, Delta State in September.

Rave Television with the slogan #soexciting, is a brainchild of Inside Out Media Limited, the producers of “Inside-out with Agatha” and was launched on August 8, 2014 by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, immediate past-governor of Delta State, among other dignitaries.

The Channel runs on ACTV, CTL, MYTV Africa Channel 4 and Multi-View Platform covering West Africa on the KU-BAND, the rest of Africa and Europe through C-BAND.

Speaking at a press conference, as part of programmes lined up for the anniversary, Agatha Amata, chief executive officer, Inside Out Media Limited, said, “As a team we are grateful to God; one year after we have done some fantastic things, even beyond our expectations.

She said that the TV station was inspired to contribute towards building a better Nigeria where the masses have a platform to voice their views about governance, the environment, and every day issues.

According to Amata, RAVE TV is not resting on its oars until it achieves the dream of broadcasting, strictly, locally sourced programmes.

She said that restoration of morality in the society can be address through proper and quality contents that take cognizance of youths and teens upbringing serious and laying emphasis on securing their future.

"I must also commend my team; I virtually don’t work here (RAVE TV Studio), because I like to stay aside and observe the young, talented and innovative people here bring out their bests. And it is paying off”.

"We are focused on addressing several issues that bug the society and local contents are very important in restoring morality among our teeming youths. We have been focusing on entertaining, informing and educating the young and the young at heart through rich content that have gone beyond the African borders. It is important to note disabuse peoples’ mind from focusing on just sports and music as ultimate means of reaching out to the youths. Give them the platform to interact with you unless you can never have their attention; we have been focusing on that," she said.

On his part, Victor Idiong, channel manager, RAVE TV, said that the Station has taken its reach beyond the shores of Africa since the launch of mobile apps.

He said that in the last six months, RaveTv app on Android has been downloaded by over 50,000 viewers. “Aside the Google Play Store, Rave TV is also available on ios, Windows and Blackberry platforms,” he said.

He said, in spite few hitches at the commencement of operations last year, Rave TV interactive programmes have become reference points for talk shows on Nigerian television and an influential platform for many Nigerian youths and elders to express themselves.

While announcing programmes lined up for the celebration, Tosin Joseph, general manager, Rave TV, said, “When a baby is born, there is joy. When the baby turns 1, there is jubilation. We are excited to announce that Rave TV is 1.

“For the past one year, it has been exciting and interacting with our viewers and social media friends. This is why we have tagged the theme of our First Year Anniversary 50 SHADES OF RAVE!!!

A series of activities has been organised to commemorate the event. Over the spread of 50 days there will be a lot of buzz online, social media competition and lots more.

Detail of the activities for the anniversary include, Novelty Matches (Basketball and Football) tagged RAVE IS FIT - August 13th & 14th; Rave TV vs Top Radio for Basket Ball - August 13th at Yaba Roll Park; Rave TV vs Nollywood for Football - August 14th at Teslim Balogun Stadium and a health walk themed: RAVE IS WELLNESS - September 24th

The team will also be walking with celebrities from Ilupeju to Maryland - Waje, Kunle Afod, McIce, Mandy, Emeka Smith, Lami Phillips, Praise Foowe and others.

There will be mentoring series tagged RAVE IS YOUTHFUL - September 26th.

“The series is targeted @ 100 young people who will register free on our social media platform. Guests @ the series will be notable personalities,” she said.
